I love helping our customers save money on their insurance. I really love it when the savings go hand-in-hand with better coverage to keep them in business.
When it comes to shopping for auto insurance as a Contract Carrier for a 3PL, the biggest challenge can be finding an insurer whose coverage is in full compliance with your 3PL contract.
I was on the phone last week with a Contract Carrier who has a fleet of 32 power units hauling 100% Building Materials. His premium had gotten so high that he was desperate to find a better price. He had received a few estimates that were lower, but the coverage wasn’t meeting his 3PL contract requirements.
I was confident that we could not only help him lower his premium, which we did by 20%, but also improve his coverage.
Here’s how we did it:
- Fully compliant insurance for 3PL partners — our Last Mile Delivery Insurance Coverages are customized to meet 3PL contract requirements — always.
- Better Coverage — his current coverage was a Scheduled Auto Policy, which is somewhat risky for a contractor with a fleet of this size. If an unscheduled vehicle were to suffer a loss, it would not be covered under that policy. We were able to offer him Symbol 1, Any Auto Policy, which is much safer for a fleet of 32 units.
At the end of the day, saving money on auto insurance premiums is a big win, but even bigger is the assurance that your policy isn’t jeopardizing your 3PL contract or your business.
