The BizCHOICE Team recently received this question from one of our 3PL contractor driver customers.

Question: “What other types of work can I do under my insurance policy? Can I get coverage for load board work?”

Answer:  Thanks for this question! We love to support our customers who are diversifying their operations to include additional services to grow their business.

We can provide coverage for the following additional types of work:

  • White Glove Delivery – for a product that requires assembly or installation being delivered across the threshold into a residential home.
  • Over the Threshold Delivery – involves the driver leaving the package in a secure, dry area of the customer’s residence.

Load board work is not an approved exposure under our program due to the sporadic nature of work. However, we are happy to insure other contracts for which you perform similar types of work.

Here’s a list of eligible work under our Last Mile Delivery program:

  • Product Installation Coverage – Our program has the ability to provide the necessary general liability insurance coverage for the installation exposure. General liability coverage is not available on a monoline basis.
  • New Business or New Operating Authority – We will consider accounts with no prior loss history, but require the insured to have prior work experience in this field. A loss statement from the insured is required on fleets over five (5) units.
  • Fleet Size – No minimum or maximum; we will consider all unit counts.
  • Young Drivers – Our program driver requirements are a minimum of 21 years of age with two (2) years of commercial driving experience.

Keep the questions coming! The BizCHOICE Team loves to support our Last Mile Delivery customers’ growing businesses and to deliver superior protection to insure your success!
